Our 2019 Annual Report

2019 was a year of endings and new beginnings. Of lessons learnt and new experiences. Of new connections and solidifying existing relationships.

We organised two fundraising events: Our 6º Rotterdam Running Event and the second edition of our Beach Event supported by many participants and volunteers.

We closed off our Driver’s training project in Kathmandu together with our local partner New Sadle.

With our local partner SVSI in Chitwan we have intensified our relationship based on good teamwork and results. We successfully completed our Wildlife Guide training programme. We also launched our second project – Ladies in the Front Seat – Driver’s training for 20 marginalised women and started the planning phase of setting up a sustainable eco-friendly soap factory where we will train women from the poorest ‘Musahar’ communities to work and run the soap factory.

2019 is also the year in which we decided, that for the coming years, we will focus our efforts on the Chitwan region, where there is great potential for economic development of both women and the region itself. This was a key insight that we gained over the past year; focus your efforts rather than spreading yourself too thin. Having a trustworthy local partner and commitment from the local stakeholders are also important lessons learnt for us.

A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors for their strong support and belief in us and we look forward to 2020 and all the exciting projects that are underway or planned. We hope we can count on your continued support to empower more women so they can realise their economic and social potential.
